I just recently purchased a 2008 X358 Vanden Plas. I have the front touch/navigation screen, rear headrest monitors, and rear multimedia control panel. When pressing the menu button on the front screen the "rear multimedia" icon/tab does not appear in the menu. Pressing the power button on the rear monitors does nothing and there seem to be no power going to the rear control panel. Any ideas on what's going on or is there some type of module I need to look at? Please help, I would love to have my RSE functioning again.

 

Does your radio,CD player etc work?

 

Yes. Radio, Nav, and Cd are working.

No I don't.

 

There is an option that RSE was added by dealer or earlier owner /it was not "as built" specs/ and someone did wrong programing I mean did not told the car that it has RSE. I'd find someone with SDD to check.

 

So let say I got someone to program RSE into the car... then would the RSE control panel (in the arm rest of rear seats) power on? Or is the fact that the control panel not getting power so the car doesn't recognize an RSE present so that's why there is no rear multimedia tab up front.

 

Well, all that remains is to dismantle the rear seat and check if the plug is fastened
