Default Shaky rear view mirror

The driver's side mirror on my 05 X350 has developed a slight amount of looseness in the mounting of the mirror glass itself, not the attachment to the door. I can see it vibrating a little when driving and I can wiggle it slightly. Can someone point me to the procedure for removing the glass, or the section of the manual that covers it. If I can get in there without doing any damage I feel like I should be able to reinforce whatever is coming loose. If I have to replace the entire assembly then I guess I'm going to add this to the list of endearing flaws that give the car "vintage character".

Thanks

Jeff

Have a look at the above.

all mirrors that I have dealt with clip on a holder in the mirror surround. It is that "holder" that is moved by motors. So in my experience the mirror can be pulled off the holder clips with some slight force.

I have not done that on a Jaguar.

So it could be that the clips are damaged or the motor assembly is badly worn.
