Default Shouldn’t have touched it while it was working…

Because now it doesn’t.

Was “fiddling” with the 12-way adjustment and it suddenly stopped. At the same time I got a “passenger door open” warning and a yellow airbag lamp on the dash. Goddammit.

I've checked the fuses, the underseat ground and the drivers seat module PCB doesn’t look damaged.

I’ve got SDD and a Mongoose cable but not used it enough in anger to be confident in what I should be doing with it - any obvious checks or “programs” I can run to help diagnose this?

TIA

SDD is the best as I don't think after market stuff will read the Power Seats.
Need to post car info or we can't help?

ICarSoft LR V2 will read all modules and show real time data.

Even seat modules? I could splash out on an ICarSoft CR and use it across my “fleet”…

Pete have you read the seat modules with that scanner?
I ask because it's common for the advertising to state it reads all modules.
BUT that is a big maybe so you need to check each scanner and each module.

Hi clubairth1
I am pretty sure I have seen the module DSM (Driver Seat Module) while scrolling through the list. I will check again and note the relevant PIDs. I think I have an error in my fore/aft position data as the seat doesn't always get the memorized position correct.
There are 170 data PIDs for the PCM alone.

Sounds a bit like a connector or connectors under the seat may have worked loose. Have a look and see.... you never know....

Hi clubairth1,
I have checked my car with my iCarsoft LR V2.0. The DSM (Driver Seat Module) is shown in the list of modules. I can scan for errors, clear errors and see live data. There are 24 data PIDs which cover the seat positions fore/aft, front and rear raise/lower, recline, headrest, squab extension etc There are also PIDs for the control switch actuations and battery voltage. Unfortunately only one value can be graphed/viewed/manipulated at one time. The front seat fore/aft position seems to start at 9% (full forward) to 19% (full aft).
The iCarSoft graphs are not very useful, as the scale adjusts dynamically to accommodate the signal.
For loss of seat memory (which I have), it seems there is a recalibration routine in WDS/SDD, but nowhere else.
Reading the seat memory TSB, they say that the code B1940 is to be ignored.

For the benefit of others, whilst the ground under the seat looked (and even tested) good, when I undid the nut to clean it all up the stud broke apart and turned to dust!
Sourced a suitable self tapping screw, cleaned and remade the connection - much success!
