Default Steering column squeek

05 VDP. Have a slight squeek / squeel when turning steering wheel. Hard for old folk like me to hear but others do. Anyone?

I had similar on my last X350. It sounded like a rubber seal or something in the steering column generating the noise. As it didn't bother me I never got round to investigating it. My current 2007 X358 has no squeak

This was the service fix when I worked at the dealer.

Wow .2 hrs. Reminds me of how much I hated being a service manager. Twelve minuets to clock in, find and study the bulletin, find a location to actually do the procedure, return to shop and clock off. Then hope it worked.

Hello Terrific

I also had a slight squeal in my 2005 XJ8L when turning the steering wheel. Jag has a power steering additive for such an issue. I found a Lubrizol product that does the same job. Added 50 ml to my power steering reservoir and the noise disappeared.
