I needed 6 yards. You can buy it online, either genuine Alcantara or for about half that much a generic automotive micro suede.

Also make sure you use the correct adhesive that can withstand the extreme temps in the roof, actual headliner adhesive.

You did it yourself? Where did you get fabric? Do you have a web site so you can push me in the right direction? Also what's the difference between the two materials? Send me some pics please if you can . Mine is currently gray and would like to keep it gray but am debating black. Any opinions on this? I had someone recommend I match the vdp piping . What do you think?

It is not hard at all. I had a thread about mine a few months back. While I did not do it entirely myself, as it turned out the shop ran into some problems and I ended up helping them finish it.

I learned from research that UV automotive fabrics and genuine headliner adhesive were essential for longevity.

The interior on the SuperV8 is black, including the piping, so black seemed only natural (I saw an AMG with the factory optioned Alcantara & all black interior and decided it would work for mine too) since the dove gray fabric matches nothing else on the car.

There is nothing wrong with two-tone and it could even be enhanced by doing the door panel inserts as well. What color is your piping?

There are a few websites that sell the kits and fabrics. IF I can find them I will post.
