When I acquired my SV8 back in September, we drove it home on a 4 hour drive, and I noticed that the console, right at my elbow, was getting pretty warm. I mentioned this to the shop that was taking care of a few things for me, and they reported that the car was missing it's secondary bulkhead, and that was causing heat to leak through from the engine compartment. They were unable to locate the parts needed though, and ended buttoning up things without resolving the issue. I wasn't happy about this, but things happen.
Fast forward to today. I had the car running with the console out (JagDroid install), and noticed the heat again. Turns it the heat is radiating from these two tubes running along the compressor for the rear seats. They were getting pretty hot. Perhaps hot enough to burn.
Is this to be expected, or an issue? If it's normal, then is there any reason I can't try to add some sort of heat insulation to the console to keep things cooler?
