Swapping EPB Caliper/Handbrake Cables from one EPB to another from a different Model
Hi everyone, Okay, so I'm in a bit of a quandary over what will fir what here ? My model is a late 2008 XJ358 V6 Petrol, pretty sure it needs a replacement EPB as per my other thread on here, thing is, after much cross referencing, phone calls to trusted independents, my own knowledge etc: I am pretty sure providing you
get compatible models "same year build 2008 /09" .... You can actually fit another EPB from a donor car that doe not have to be an XJ358? for example ...a late S Type, the 2008 to 2009 model XF, and even a few XK's of the same years ........ So, my question is: Has anyone ever fitted an EPB actuator motor out of a donar car that "wasn't
necessarily an XJ350/358 ? and if so, are the cable set ups the same, Or, do you simply swap your original cables over to the replacement EPB if there is a length difference etc ?
Please see attached Info on this issue, and the part numbers on the replacement 2009 XF I'm thinking of using .........( PS: I have found a 2004 XJ350 EPB that apparently works fine, but as usual it looks old and rusty and is of course four years older than the one I'm replacing.
