Default Switched 12v for radar detector tap?

Just acquired a new Uniden R3 and have been looking to hardwire the power rather than dangling the power cord in front of the windscreen to the cigarette lighter power plug in the glove box.
Is there switched 12v in the overhead console I could tap into? I tried testing with a voltmeter, but could only find always on 12v. I was wanting switched 12v, so the detector would power off when the ignition is switched off.

it is dead easy to route the wire along between the headlining and glass, then tuck it around the corner ( tuck it into the join where the A pillar trim and the headlining meet )and down the edge of the A pillar trim on the door side not screen side, when you get to the actual dashboard you can tuck it between the end of the dash and the door rubber seal, at the lower part of the dashboard you can then tuck it up behind and into the rear of the glovebox.
I did this on mine in my last x350 and also my current x350, easy to do.

I think the Jag is a switched ground rather than switched 12v. It is easy to hide the cable as has been mentioned above, I have done the same with the dash cam.

Any chance of getting a photo of this?

The car is covered up with an outdoor cover ( not used it since early March so on a conditioner ) at the moment but give me a couple of days and I will see if I can get a couple of pics, the wire is completely hidden but I can hook it out a bit to show you where it runs I think.

Thank you! No hurry. I'll let you know if I manage to bumble through it on my own. I should cover mine, but it's my daily driver. My other steed is a 1971 VW Karmann Ghia Convertible. Yellow. In my opinion I own two of the handsomest cars ever made!

I managed to get these photos. I could not access the passenger side of my car due to how it is covered up so I have photographed the drivers side routing for the wire.
it is the same whichever side of the car is used, when you get to the bottom of the dashboard you should be able to thread the wire and plug up behind the glovebox and once you are in that area with the glovebox open you should be able to work out the best route.
i think on that side of the car I may have removed a screw Holding the under dash carpet panel to help me but it was a long time ago.
you should be able to hide the wire at that lowest point better than I did on the drivers side of mine, the wire shown here at the base of the dashboard is actually a sat nav feed , however the wire exiting at the top of the screen is for a dash cam.

SWEET! This is beautiful. Thank you!I played with it a little this evening and it appears I need another foot of length on my USB cable. As soon as Amazon delivers my order, this is happening.
