Hello,

I have a 2006 XKR and when I try to run something from the lighter socket, for example a usb adapter to charger my phone, it doesn't work. I have tried various devices with no luck, the lighter however does work so I'm guessing it has some power.

There is also an old iPhone cable which appears under the arm rest but I'm not sure where this goes but I'm guessing it could be drawing power from it?

Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated.

Have you tried the socket in the glove box

There has been other threads on here re the power from the cigarette lighter and when there is power from it

 

Maybe try a better USB adapter? Cheap ones have much less than 1/2 amp, and there are also ones with over two amps.
