Default Tdvi passenger door open fault

Hi Folks,

Im new here and I recently bought my first Jaguar after wanting one since I was a boy. I have a problem with my car where the dash tells me the passenger door is open when the doors are closed but I cannot find the fault. It also refuses to lock even if I push the internal locks on the inside of the car. The car locks with the key but not the fob but the fob will open the car. I have tried the following but I am now a bit stuck so any help would be much appreciated.

Replaced passenger front door actuator.

Checked the switches continuity on the 3 pin connector on all 3 passenger doors with the latch open and closed, all switches appear to work.

Checked there is voltage supplied at the 3 pin plug going to the actuator switches.

Swapped out all 3 passenger actuators with a known working one.

Checked wiring in the doors.

Checked fuses related to central locking.

Opened up the drivers door control module which looks good.

I am at a total loss and any assurance would be much appreciated.

On top of this the movement for the passenger seat also seems dead!

Thanks, Davie.

Have you checked battery voltage? Should be at least 12.6 v after resting overnight. Low batteries cause all kinds of issues on these and many newer cars. The passenger seat may need programing. There are threads here about the passenger seat refusing to move.

yes it’s a brand new battery and fully charged so I don’t think that’s the issue. As far as reprogramming the seat I assume that will need the jag software?

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...rchid=16228248 This is a good place to start. I can't remember if SDD is needed or not.

Hi Davie
I suggest that you scan the vehicle for DTC's

I have a decent code reader but not Jaguar software but mine doesn’t show any door issues

Eventually got to the bottom of both the seat not moving and the false door open warning. The problem was the earth boss under the passenger seat being corroded, this earth is used by both the passenger rear actuator and the seat. Once cleaned up and tightened everything started working. Hopefully this helps anyone else with a similar issue.
