Question Thermostat housing removal tips?

Hey everyone me and my motorcycle mechanic are about to remove thermostat housing and replace with an aluminum... All signs are point to that being the cause of my recent major coolant leak/overheating. plastic must have cracked majorly somewhere on it. It happened to another Jaguar of mine, 2000 XK8 if I recall correctly. I remember that being a major hassle to get out, had to make shift an tool to get one of the screws out way back in there.

From what it looks like the intake needs to come off to get access to it. Any tips/suggestions greatly appreciated!

Who makes an aluminum one for our cars? I need to replace my thermostat and I'd much prefer to get away from plastic.

The removal was pretty straight forward actually, I remember having trouble with removing the thermo housing on a 2000 XK I had years ago. Had to make a special tool to get some of the screws out that were way out of reach. Glad this one was easier. After removal I believe we found where there was a crack in the housing, new one on the way and yes no aluminum option. Assumed there was an aluminum option as there was an aftermarket one for the XK. Oh well... I dont imagine having this car long enough to need another thermo housing but you never know

Just got this done as well. The outside of the assembly looked great, no leaks, but most of the inside had completely disintgrated. Half of the thermostat itself had flipped sideways inside the housing.
