Default thermostat housing torques ?

I need to swap my thermostat housing and I also will try to swap the engine inlet part.
Some threads suggest to tighten the screws "snugly", but is there an offical torque value available ?

I searched through Jtis but I didn't find how to swap the thermost housing, only the thermostat itself.

Look here:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...enance-246865/

21. Workshop manual - complete
It should be page 2310 of the PDF: Section303-03A, Engine Cooling. The first part is "specifications", where you will find the torque specifications, as well.

Best regards,

Thomas

Thanks for guiding me.

I'm still not sure, whether "Thermostat housing retaining bolts" also applies to the bolts, which go into the engine block, or it's just the three screws to open the "triangle" which contains the thermostat.

Update:
On page 1436, there is "Thermostat housing retaining bolts = 10NM", so I now just go with 9NM to be save.

I don't think that 9 or 10 NM makes such a big difference, but it's funny that Jaguar contradicts itself...

"Thermostat housing retaining bolts" are exactly what the name says, so the ones that you are looking for.
If you read the instructions for replacing the thermostat, you can see that the torque for the bolts is explicitly mentioned there, and is the same as for the thermostat housing retaining bolts.

Best regards,

Thomas

But what is the name of the screws with the green lines ?
( These go into the engine block, so they are those, who scare me )

Those are the Thermostat housing retaining bolts, the ones that fix the thermostat housing to the engine. In any case, 9 or 10 NM are a minimum torque with which you will not damage anything.

Best regards,

Thomas

Go 9 or 10Nm on all bolts in that area.
