TPS Sensor Help
My 2005 XJR has finally started hitting "Limp Mode" enough for me to replace my TPS sensor. Digging around these forums along with the confirmation of my scan tool, my TPS sensor needs replacing.
First I replaced my battery (was about that time anyways)
Next I installed a new TPS sensor being as careful as possible to align it in the same orientation as the old one. Plugged the battery back in and immediately the car goes into Engine Systems Fault mode. Before I had around 30 seconds up to 5 minutes until this would happen.
Thinking that maybe my new TPS sensor was not aligned properly I tried a few different orientations. Still no luck. I even took the old TPS of my X-Type and tried that. No signs of progress.
I can buy a new throttle body for around $300 right now. Is this my next step?
I've been digging around here for a while trying to find something I missed. If you think I did please let me know. Thank you in advance!

I suppose that if it was a TPS sensor wiring fault the code would be different.
Have you checked the plug and wiring?
What make of sensor did you buy and how much did you pay?
Try cleaning it.
