Default Traction & Stability Warning Light

I purchased my car which has an LPG conversion in May. Had it serviced by two different garage, one for the engine the other LPG. The LPG garage said they did not have the right diagnostic equipment for the Traction/Stability and ABS warning light. So they serviced the LPG, they alo now say that there is a problem with the throttle body, also the first service was very poor as they should have rectified the warning light problems,
This car is starting to cost more than its value.
I have two question:-
1 - Can I resolve these problems myself
2 - If not, can someone recomend a cheap garage in East London, that will carry out the work but not charge a fortune, as soon as they see the car the price goes up.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Putting LPG on these engines is generally not a good idea. Depending on the quality of work, and because you have to take off intake components, you may in particular have air leaks triggering codes. Did you read DTC's with a proper diagnostic tool?

Hi
thanks for prompt reply. The conversion was a PRINS, which I believe is a good quality and I have all the paperwork.
Just collected it from the LPG garage and they said LPG system is good and they found the air leak and fixed it .
They could not check the warning lights as they did not have the correct kit for ABS system. So may have to take it to yet another garage. On the way home, I had to put my foot to the boards then the red engine light came on and it went into default, after I stopped and started again it cleared up.
Not sure what my next step is. I bought the car at a good price and was willing to have it fully serviced but the problem are not being sorted, little annoying to say the least.

You need proper diagnosis first.

I suggest you take it to a Jaguar main dealer but be careful some of these people are cr**ks.

Ask for just the codes to be read and take a note of them-it may cost 80 to 100 GBP.

Tell them not to do any work on it unless you have authorised it.

The fault may be just a sensor. Report the codes on here and we may be able to help.

I's a great Jag you will love it!

Cheers

Default Engine Fail Safe Mode XJ Sovereign 1998 (LPG)

Hi

I eventually purchased a scanner scan 930i. The two fault codes that come up are:-
1 - C1145

2 - P0121 - I believe this could be the Throttle body needs replacing.

Can you please advise me the best way forward. Please bear in mind that my car has a PRINS LPG System fitted.

Also the Engine Fail Safe Mode/ABS warning light come on when I put the accelerator to the floor and it kicks into engine safe mode. (ABS lights, Traction/Stability warning)

Thanks

Joseph

You are posting in the wrong forum. The 1998 MY car is X308.

The C1145 is a fault with the RF wheel speed sensor (likely the short link harness to the wheel).

Yes you are in the wrong forum but good news:

The ABS is just a wheel sensor and the p0121 code

is a throttle position sensor.

Thanks for prompt reply. I have reposted under X308.

Will check the short link first and replace if need be.

Do you recommend to replace the throttle sensor or are there other checks I can carry out first.

Please re[ply on the new link if possible.

Once again many thanks.
