Default trickle charger connection points in engine bay?

I would like to run a wire under the engine and make a connection there instead of at trunk any ideas ?

Do jags have a positive terminal up front?

thank you

There's permanent battery+ at either end of fuse F35 in the front fuse box.

And if your battery goes dead, this is where you can connect, to provide 12v to open the boot (trunk).

Hi Boomer,
Why not use your ignition key in the slot in the boot to open it? Even the x358 has this (it's visible looking up underneath the chrome strip).

He wasn't asking how to open the trunk, he was asking where he can connect a battery maintainer other than at the battery itself.

That fuse box location will take a maintainer, but it wouldn't be sufficient for jump-starting the car!

I don't see why trickle charging at the front is easier than the trunk. I just put a thin wire out the trunk.

Some have had difficulty with the key trunk release, I guess because it's never used. I "exercised" mine and it was indeed difficult though worked eventually.

It might not be a permanent connection they want, but something they can put on the car after it sits a few days. Opening the hood and finding that point is a lot easier than digging out the battery, especially if you're not very tidy about what you carry around in the trunk all the time.

Hi wfooshee
Yes, I saw that, but Boomer from Boston piped up about using the power so he could open the trunk. I just wanted to let him know there is a keyhole, it's just not obvious.

Like I said, he may not be looking for a permanent connection. I've hooked mine up all of two times in the three years I've had the car, just using the clamps on the battery posts. But I keep my trunk clean and empty.

Yes, you can use a permanent pigtail and just connect the maintainer as needed, but I have a couple motorcycles and all of my pigtails are in use elsewhere.
