Super V8 Portfolio

OK, fine, but what questions; used prices and where to find the cars ? You're certainly right that these cars would not have been made in huge numbers. They were a very expensive item ($115k) and mimicked the Daimler-badged cars sold here in the UK.
You can read about it here:
Jaguar XJ (X350) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I wouldn't think more than a few thousand were ever produced but don't know what the exact figures were.

The X350 Super V8 Portfolio also got a few features not available in other cars;
400W Dolby Surround Sound system with 15 speakers
Conker coloured leather
Alcantara headlining
Polished alloy shifter surround
Black Walnut Veneer (but this could be specified on other cars for $$$$)
Cherry Black paint (Winter Gold also an option, but most were done in black)
Huge polished exhaust finishers
Machined alloy power vents in the front wings
Polished 20" Callisto wheels
The other options fitted (full electric split rear seat, rear screens, DVD, etc) were available in the standard Super V8's, on request.
Most if not all the specific Portfolio parts are no longer available to purchase as spares from Jaguar. A few vehicles have been wrecked, and the special parts sold off. A few forum members have picked up bits & pieces.
265x X350 Super V8 Portfolio's produced worldwide, with a split like this;
145x to USA
10x to Canada
40x to Japan
10x to Switzerland (badged as Concept Eight)
8x to Australia
Rest to UK, Russia, Middle East & EU
The last X350 that was produced at the Browns Lane plant was also the last X350 Super V8 Portfolio, and now resides in the Jaguar Daimler Heratige Trust collection.
There were other X350 Portfolio models too, but these did not make it to North America.
X350 XJR Portfolio; SWB, with the vents/pipes/etc but did not get the 400W sound system, or the back seat extras. Only sold in black with ivory or cream interior in the UK/EU. 5x were built for Australia in black with charcoal interior. Probably 100x or so built. Offered 2006/2007 in UK/EU & Australia.
X350 TDVi Portfolio; exact same as the XJR Portfolio but with the 2.7L diesel engine. A bit rarer, probably 30x or so built. Offered 2007 in the UK only as far as I can tell.
As for pricing, there are a number of threads here on jaguarforums where owners have been discussing values and what not, also one recent thread where a Super V8 Portfolio was totalled and there were problems with the insurer. Have a search in the X350 section for "Portfolio" there's quite a few threads.
Market price is market price. Good luck. If you buy one, keep it, I think they will be a future classic myself.

2006 Super V8 Portfolio information; there are some nuggets in here somewhere
There's a gentleman in Rancho Santa Margarita that picked one up back in March of last year at the Manheim auction and then there is me who stumbled across one in October when a Chicago jeweler decided to trade in his Portfolio (also known as car 6 in his garage) for a more refined Chicago winter ride called a Jeep Rubicon.
I saved the poor car from another Illinois winter spent in a large temperature controlled stable doing nothing and it is now enjoying life in sunny San Diego. As only a previous owner of many XKR convertibles thanks to the power of having a dealer license with two friends from college in order to save money and let our wives drive the cars we love until we sell'em, I must say the Portfolio at no time was worth $115,995 given the glaring omissions on the car that were standard in the competition. But I got soooooooo much more car for I paid that this will be the hardest one to part with (it was truly pure luck running across it). The 400w stereo s u c k s at high volume unless you throw a DTS encoded disc. Plenty DTS audio available to download, but in order to play it on the **** retentive Jaguar of 2006 and earlier audio system, you have to converting to MP3 which defeats the purpose. That said, discs at 320 kbps and above using JRiver and its DTS 'add-on' sound exceptional even approaching the magic 35 on the volume knob. And listening to the latest Sponge Bob episode over the sound system when you don't want to......it really does feel as if you were driving thru bikini bottom on your way to get a crabby patty.
Seriously though, being a 9 years 'old body style' kitty, the looks and comments and kudos the Portfolio receives (at least 2-3 times a week and I don't drive much) and for some reason, it always gets the front spot at valet. It is nice to drive something rare, special, especially at less than the cost of a Prius; that and you don't run into another of your own kind. Plus it seems there are less and less since when they get in accidents they go where David went in A.I. Supposedly only 130 still around the North American continent.
The black cherry is a wonderful color especially after a late afternoon wash when one can usually enjoy it in the setting sun across the Pacific Ocean.....for about 8 minutes before it attracts dust like a Dyson.
For a car its size, it feels incredibly solid (drive off showroom floor solid), it is incredibly fast (my wife beat me badly vs me in my '05 XKR conv't with 145k on it but I believe that was due to her being on a diet and a lighter driver vs. me, who is not on a diet, and the wind drag certainly came into play as well).
'Supposedly', the first VIN of the 2006 Portfolio's was G50650. Mine is G50651. This does nothing for me unless I get something for free from Jag if they put the first one in their vault or museum. If it means something to someone else, power to them.
My 9 yr old daughter is making me sell the XKR since the Grey Poupon tray is the most impressive thing about the car for her since that is where she puts her laptop and pretends to run a small third world country from the backseat. The Portfolio is for sale as well (not officially but then again, everything is always for sale in our household which is why I'm driving my 13th XKR convertible in 10 years......the 12th one was the keeper...2006 Victory Edition XKR conv't GOD I MISS THAT CAR!) I remember buying it in Vegas and driving it home the back way to San Diego (technically Death Valley National Monument is on the way to San Diego if you 'forget' to get back on the freeway at Baker's Largest Thermometer in the World. Two greedy people from Ohio purchased it on Ebay from me two weeks after I hit 138mph in the Valle de Muertos and even though I stuck to my price this time (which I never do, my wife will verify that on everything I do), these people flew to San Diego and the next day after a very nice harborfront dinner, I watched them happily head down Interstate 8 East.
I still hate that couple
Sorry, I digressed a bit.......Portfolio.....yes....awesome car....great for tall people.....looks like a limo.....and the only place in your current wardrobe where you can say "Suede? Did you say suede? Well, let me tell and show you suede!
The usual response is WTF? At that point I like to throw the word 'Conker' into the conversation since it sounds like a new lovemaking thingy that noone has heard of, or women turn around and look at you as if you said something derogatory about any or all females within listening distance.
BTW, trying to keep 'Conker' in tip top shape takes as much time and effort as Bruce 'Jenny' Jenner's transition......the Conker is worth it, the other......
Why am I writing this? Who the heck are you people? Is this Facebook.
Ahh, wife is home......I'm outta here !!!!!
Feel free to call me (619-203-3127) with any questions about the Portfolio. The previous owners were much more elegant than I and I'm certain they did not have to remove one of their garage cabinets just to fit the beast into a 2 car garage AT AN ANGLE!!! Discussions with my wife to remodel the garage into a deeper 3 car garage were commenced but immediately put to rest.....didn't take 2 seconds. If someone is looking for one hell of a sedan, I have one and if anyone needs a great running high mileage drive it everyday because all the inside parts are Ford 2005 XKR convertible....that's for sale too...sale may expand to home, children, current spouse.....but the dog is NOT for sale

It's G50568.
So obviously, the first VIN is lower than quoted above. Maybe what was meant is G50560?
From Topix, mine is MY 2006 but left the factory on 18 August 2005 and was first registered on 30 September 2005.
Any earlier VIN and/or fabrication date?

That was much fun to read, now I know why I bought one two weeks ago in Miami and drove it home to Texas. 2006 Black Cherry 29768 miles very clean with new tires right wrong or stupid I paid $24500, nicest car I probably ever own. In case anyone is interested there was 2006 gold one with 11,000 miles for $40K in Miami also.
