2004 XJ8 electric lock for the trunk lid has stopped working (on key fob, on dash, on trunk lid . . . nothin ! ). There's a motor which pulls the lid down tight so even though I was able to open it manually using the key, if I close it manually (without the electronics) I really need to SLAM the lid to get it to latch (and I don't like slamming ANYTHING on my Jag). I can't find anywhere in the owner's manual where the fuse is located for this switch or motor.

I know the S Type guys have a valet switch in the glove box that when "accidently" pushed causes the same issue.
Thanks for the suggestion. My XJ has the valet button on the dash so I tried arming and disarming it and . . . nothing
- it must be a fuse or a relay but the manual doesn't indicate where either of these are.

You need to get a copy of the Electrical Guide for the X350. It has detailed
circuit diagrams. I have not had this problem fortunately but i have had to replace a door lock/actuator. I traced the fault to the actuator microswitch. These switches have a limited life and I know that there are at least two in the boot lock. Sorry can't help anymore but if it was mine I would check the fuse and if that 's ok dismantle the lock and test it on the bench.
