Default Under tray

Hi does anyone run there XJ/ XJR without there under tray? I know it's for aerodynamics and all but it's a pain in the *** to get on and off. Mine is broken in places and is pricey to replace, I need to do an oil change and don't know if its worth replacing or not.

I like the under tray!

It is a big improvement on the old days, just like the wheel liners keeping

the body and engine relatively clean and dry.

I must admit I like to keep my cars as original as possible and have made a small repair to mine using some thin aluminium sheet and pop rivets but probably glass fibre would have been even better.

I must also admit that the fixings are bloody awful and I have replaced the ones across the front (4 off I think) with pop rivets which i just drill out when I need access and then replace with new.

WRT the other fixings I grease them to ensure they will come off the next time I need access.

They are available used too.

Cut an access opening where the oil filter is mounted, there will be no need to remove the "Front Under Cover" for oil changes.

Although the Under Tray on this and other Jaguar models helps to keep the engine clean and reduce lift on the front end, the main purpose is to improve airflow through the radiator.
