Default Upgrading

Hey Guys,

So I have a long list of items that I would like to do my 04 XJR when I pick it up this week. I would appreciate any of your expertise and or knowledge of these matters.

1. BlueTooth/Hands Free - Can this be worked into the factory audio unit, and work with the factory controls of the car?

If yes, which aftermarket unit is best for this, and approximately how much is the cost?

2. Sat Radio - Exact same questions as above.

3. Has anyone seen the upgraded 2008 Front and Rear bumpers applied to a 2004 car? Is this a direct plug and play replacement? Where is the best place to source the bumpers if this can be done?

4. Has anyone of this Forum done any performace upgrades to their XJR? Intake, Exhaust, Pulley, CPU Upgrade? I would like to learn about this as much as possible.

Thanks Guys!

Search is your friend. I had many of those questions and answered them quickly by using this forum's search feature.

There have been extensive threads on 1,2, and 3 along with pulleys and intake threads, including do it yourself guides.

The apparent answer to 3 is a qualified "yes", as in "yes if you have $10,000 to spend", there is no plug and play solution.

Thanks wheelGun.

I will do some snooping around the site.

10 grand!? Wow, I grossly miscalculated that.

Where is the major expense? Are the headlights different?

Wire harnesses, fenders, labor & all of the parts. Adds up quickly. Much better off either making some minor upgrades or just getting a new car since apparently there are good deals to be had.

The only part that is plug and play is the grille.

To me, the lower valance looks fantastic and well-sorted on the 2008/2009 look, but I have grown to like the tight wire mesh on the 2004-2007 grilles. All in all, if I had a 2008/2009 I would be happy more because I got: cooled seats, mirrors with signal flashers, a little mini lip spoiler on the deck lid, and bluetooth, and not for the front end treatment. I also like how we have rub strips on the doors, functionally and looks-wise with our 2004-2007's.

I really love the aggressive stance with those bumpers!

Just for my own knowledge, why do you need a wire harness?

Im blown away that the fenders are diff too.

Different wiring configuration, lighting, etc. on one of the UK forums someone documented a parts list and instructions. I read the entire thing about a year ago. Rear end is different too to match the front.
