Vibrataion
I've had this vibration for a month now. Originally, it started out as a noise like a pita patta on the road. I thought it was my exhaust, as I had just had it modified. I did a tire rotation, after the rotation there was a vibration/grinding coming through the the steering wheel and accelerator when turning right on bends or on/off ramps at speed. So I took it into Jaguar to diagnose with some other issues, they said the wheel was out of balance and they quoted $100 to balance the wheels (which I laughed at).
I took the car to a wheel specialist to fix the rear rim, as it was loosing pressure. The wheel specialist fixed two more rims and balanced all 4 tires for $25. So, I thought the vibration would be fixed, so after getting the car back the vibration was still there. The wheel specialist said the vibration could be caused because the rims had bends in them and could cause high points once the rims have been fixed. He said it would take the same miles (15000) as it took to create the vibration to wear the tires back to round again.
So, I had an indy look at it and he said the front left wheel hub needs replacing, he put ears on it when on the hoist and said he could hear the hub had a flat spot it. When driving home from the indy the vibration is happening on the straight and when turning to the left now, also it appears to be getting worse.
Who to believe? Any thoughts or input on this one.

Have the indie who diagnosed the wheel brg fix your car
Have him evaluate your wheels/tires as well. The $25 tire guy is v incompetent
Buy the indie a bottle of scotch this xmas, and then stick with him

Unfortunately, the indie doesn't do tires and balancing. The wheel guy doesn't do mechanical or suspension. Jaguar Cincinnati has no ideal about anything, except how to over charge. This is my first time using the indie, so no real experience using him. Tire discounters will do a free evaluation of the tires and suspension, but that's probably bringing too many into the equation.
Anyone know of a good quality replacement hub brand/s? Rock auto has Moog in stock.

Vibration from wheels normally hit the strongest when car speed reaches 60 mph, and if you hear grinding noise particularly when cornering it could be the wheel bearings wearing out. You can jack up the car with wheels hanging in the air and moving them at all angles and if you feel any free play, then you catch the culprit. However, engine mounts (two front) and the transmission mount (one back at the end of the gearbox) can also be the source of vibration. Would suggest you inspect your car carefully from down under to identify all suspects and then decide if this is the job for your indie or others.

The more I think about it, the more unlikely it sounds to be that you would have both your wheel bearings go out at the same time. I might check steering linkage, roll bar linkage.. does not sound good if it is traveling from one side to then both sides. can you post pictures?
I have a new Moog hub from Rock auto, I'm taking the car to the indie to replace the driver's side hub on Tuesday. Hopefully the indie is correct and the vibration will be fixed.
