Arrow Wanted A XJR But Ended Up With A XF What Are Your Thoughts ?

Like the question says I been wanting an XJR for the longest time but I ended up with an XF SC model. Something about the X350 XJR I crave. I love the XF its definitely awesome Im still learning how to adapt to all this new technology. What are your thoughts about XF SC vs XJR ?

Similar technology etc but they look so different. Personal preference at that point I think. Posting in this forum may well get you more positives for the XJR than XF...

As JagV8 says, don't be surprised to read XJR supporters here.
Personnally, I am not attracted by the modern stuff of the XF, design and techno.
I love the traditional look and materials of the X350.
Btw, Jaguar is thinking of coming back to 3 volumes for the successor of the X351

What do you mean by 3 volumes?

The XF is worthless, and not to worry, I'll take it off your hands cheap, I'll send the platform carrier tomorrow, so hit me up with your PayPal and I'll transfer the $200 for it, which will free you up to start looking for your new XJR....

Okay, okay, okay... I wouldn't mind driving an XF as well...

I had an XF 3.0 SC as a loaner while my XJ was at the dealer. I was surprised that I did like it for the most part. The drive and handling was very much like my XJ (saying a lot for my car, which is a car 10 years older with 80k more miles). Cabin was very quiet, and I was surprised how intuitive the infotainment system was. I had no issue getting into the car for the very first time and having the radio/climate/nav do exactly what I wanted without any hassle. Hats off to Jaguar for getting it right on that. The engine and trans did well, though the V6 was missing all the torque the 4.2 owners love.

Things I didn't like:
1. The motorized vents/gear shift every time you start the car. Silly gimmick, and something that will inevitably break.
2. The gear "knob" was not practical or tactile. It turned a simple parking maneuver into a 2 minute job of "stop, look down, turn knob, look back up" etc
3. Rear seat room is dismal. More like 3-series or C-class rear seat leg room.

My 2004 XJR is a fantastic car. Fast, great brakes, and very comfortable as well. Not many 4 door sedans are 0 to 60 in 5 seconds. The seats are a bit firmer than standard XJ seats. Adaptive cruise control is a great feature as well. I plan to keep this car for a long time.

RF 15 21” I’ll take better pics after I wash the car. Also has Kw coil overs.

Personally, I just don't like the "newer" Jaguars. The elegance that has always been part of a Jaguar is completely lacking. And that pig-snout grille??? Seriously???

I acquired an 2012 XF 5.0 late last year. I have not driven much yet as I am still going over the car. I have no problems with the look of the car and most of the running gear would not look out of place on my 2004 Vanden Plas . The air springs being the major difference. I will see how my body responds to the stiffer ride. I am looking fowards to the 385hp and the smoother 6HP28 transmission . So far I have not found any insurmountable problems with mechanical or electrical stuff
