Default 'Warning Vehicle too low' ... heeeEELP

hi friends

Ive recently bought my first jag, an xj6 3.0 2004 and am thrilled to own it!

Condition was excellent and i've been driving it for about a month now. The only issue is that when I start the car of a morning a red warning light comes on the dash that reads 'vehicle too low'?

The guy I bought it from says that I need to replace 1 or possibly 2 of the shocks. I guess this is plausible but im surprised that the shocks on the car have only lasted 7 years and 60kms. Is that normal or does anyone have any experience with this particular problem?

Thanks from Singapore !

This is very common--failure at 7 years is pretty average. The shocks are about $900 (US) each, I believe.

May also want to look into a new air compressor, but I'm a little bit rusty on the air suspension, so I don't know if the "vehicle too low" is a consequence of a leaking shock or a bad compressor, or both. A new air compressor is about $400 and is very easy to replace yourself.

you can get the recondition Air Suspension Shock from US if they willing to ship international. It is $400 / piece.

Is this a choice we all have with them or is it for particular models like the R.

People seem to have problems with the Arnotts. I guess they are not well built.

If you just have one shock that is bad, I would just replace it with OEM which is about twice the price. I'd hate having to do the same repair multiple times.

Default What bad things did you hear and from who?

I googled them and found pretty positive reviews.

So far I've got no problems with my Arnott's, but they've only been in the car for a few months. If you had an "R" I think the choices are limited as I've been told by the Bilstein OEM that the sport suspension is no longer available. I like the lifetime warranty though of the Arnott's

On this forum, no less. I have also heard of UCA bushings from Arnott going bad in less than a year on the Lexus forums, when I had a Lexus.

Actually, I've had original Jaguar anti-roll bar bushes going bad on me in about 1.5 years for my XJR, (and a radiator too) so I'm not too thrilled with original Jaguar spares either. Cost me a quite a bit to have both redone.

.

Yeah that is just what I was thinking,
Its not like Jaguar set the bar that high on many original and replacement parts with quality.
They outsource all over the planet, my Jaguar (ATE) master cylinder was made in Hungary, a door seal in Mexico and my new trunk seal from.......Japan, yup my trunk wont leak any more via that source, lol. So the thing to watch on the label is not where it is made but the words below "made to Jaguar specifications in...."
Seriously, Arnotts has quite positive reviews both on here and the web in general on all of their products
