Broke off my windsheild washer hose to my US left/driver's side wiper arm changing my wiper blades. It's the black plastic thru panel connector between the upper wiper spray hose and the lower washer fluid supply hose. Panel mount and barbed fittings on both ends.
I can find a 'Connector, Washer Tube, XK8 97-06, XJ 98-03' - PN GJA8969AB (X308?) but nothing specifically for my later '04 XJ8 (X350). Can they be THAT much different? Does anyone have a better part number or source for this stupid little part?
What he needs is not on the wiper. It's on the scuttle that connects the tube to the wiper. I have always been nervous when around this area as to avoid Mr Bentwrench's current situation. Bosch wipers are the only ones I use anymore. (just swap the nozzles/jets around on LHD). Does the EPC show them. I'll check.
Just looked in the jepc. Doesn't list them. Illustration just shows lines with what appears to be the fitting on it. Scuttle does not show anything. either. Try contacting a trusted dealer. Sometimes they have more detailed info. Also look up dorman. Many times we have found plastic fasteners ect that are oem, if not the originals. They make many of the fasteners for the auto manufactures.
Thanks Mark! I guess I will have to drive to the dealership and see what they show on their exploded views. Odd that the one pictured above only fits the XJ '98-'03 X300 but sure LOOKS like it should fit our '04+ X350. I'd try it but it's $12 lottery ticket! Guess I could easily modify to fit as required but shouldn't have to.
I've searched for a cross fit as this part is obviously not completely proprietary to Jaguar. I'll drill deeper into Dorman now.
Again, thanks for all the help and I'll post back when successful to add to the forum's body of knowledge.
Edit: Ha! Dorman is based about 40 miles up I-71 out of Louisville towards Cincinnati from me! From their webpage - "1918 - Jack and Lew Dorman, two enterprising brothers from Cincinnati, discover that many people can’t find the basic parts they need to repair their cars. They start a company selling hard-to-find automotive hardware sourced from salvaged vehicles." Wait, there is more! Stant, founded in 1898 in Connersville, IN is located about halfway between Cincinnati & Indianapolis.
