Default Who has the highest mileage XJ8?

One of the things I love is to go to car forums to see how high themilage is for users. I looked and didn't see a topic for this here. Just want to see who has the highest milage, year and and porblems along the way. Also routine work done. so lets have at it. Who has traveled the most miles in one of these cars. I think it shows love to drive a car and run the miles up while keeping it. I'm too new here and haven't got delivery of mine yet but I have an '08 XJ8 with around 52K on it.

Does this include an XJ6?
Mines a 2007 diesel with 110000 on the clock now just out of warranty
Had an injector,a diff seal (which meant the driveshaft had to be replaced as the diff seals are now from the later 3.0 diesel),a battery,a PDC sensor,a pair of clock bulbs, repainted A Pillar, all 3 new DPF mounts, headlights reconfigured to the car and new clock bulbs all done under warranty since buying with 103000 miles last May

04, 88K miles.
P1638 code recently.. AARGH Intermittent, clear codes it comes back in a week, DRAT

Otherwise problem free..

One more thing, next time you change the oil and are under the car check the two screws on the bracket holding the shifter cable to the transmission. One fell out and the other one was very loose. Lost the shifter for a couple days till i found the root cause. Loose Screws. Locktite on em now....

mine is a 2003 and mileage is on 134000 at the moment, I have had the normal air suspension issues but they are sorted now, also needed new front wishbones/bushes, and discs (rotors) all round. Been a great car and drives really well, oh, and also had a new telephone module for the integrated phone, I found a second hand one and my local main dealer fitted it for me.Most recent thing was the expansion tank was leaking a bit so that was replaced just before Christmas.
Previous jaguars that I have had had covered ( in reverse order from now) 130000, 135000,180000,125000,115000, and the oldest one that was my first Jaguar had about 100000 on the clock when I sold it.

1999 XJ 160+ on the clock.....bought this form someone that said it needed a new engine. Had been sitting up for 3 or 4 months when I purchased the car. Rollbacked to the house where I tinkered with it off and on over the course of two weeks. Daily driver now,...I haven't accurately tracked oil usage but I do add a bit along. There is no visible signs of smoke from the exhaust,...no leaks under the car?....Just replaced the plastic idler and tension arm idler....secondary tensioners are next. Don't have any history with this one but the car drives nicely and we are pleased with the puchase.

Hey there was a guy on this forum looking at an 04 with 191K. He said it still ran pretty good, but might have been burning oil.

That's crazy miles...but good to know the 04s will go that far. I hope I drew a lucky straw as well...

Default high mileage

I have a 1999 XJ8 that shows 188k+ miles on the odometer. The engine doesn't run, but I am working on that. Looks like wheel bearings or bushings might need to be addressed, too, as the front tires have wear issues, IMO.
Can't say anything about other issues, as, like I said, the motor doesn't run yet.

2004 XJ8 X350 4.2

140,000 miles! Bought it with 60k.

at 100k it needed a rear ball joint control arm assembly, and rear shock bushings

at 135k it needed a front drivers air shock.

Sunroof is stuck. Front passenger side ABS doesn't like getting wet (light comes on in car washes and in deep water... dries out and goes off)

Had a foot of water in the trunk which screwed up tons of stuff but was easily fixed with a used fuse box.

Overall... can't really complain.

2002 XJ8 4.0 LWB SE bought 'as seen' with 124k without concern, now 130k with some minor suspension work. 4th XJ8, only an older 3.2 causing problems with Nikasil liners. I trust the car so much I have just had it lpg'd. I think they call that blind faith!
