X350 2003 Rear lights completely dead
Hi all,
I have a 2003 XJ6, 3 litre petrol.
It has just come back from the dealer for dead driver's seat and now I have the rear lights completely out;
Basically anything that is on page 8.3 of the electrical guide: tail, fog, indicator, stop, high stop, licence plate is dead.
The other things on the REM seem to be OK: I can drive the car so assume fuel pump OK, can unlatch the petrol flap and the bonnet, rear door lights on, triggers courtesy light etc.
The only indication on the dashboard is two alternating messages, one each for faulty right and left rear indicator lights. No complaint for stop lights or tail lights...
Has anybody come across this?
Any ideas?
I tried to take out and reseat the connecters, especially the CR71 which seems to connect all these lights but couldn't take out the connector. Is there a trick to it? I actually broke part of the lip trying to force it out with a flat screwdriver
I also checked the grounding, G24, with a multimeter which seems to have good contact.
Any help will be appreciated.
Otherwise it is back to the dealers next week for another £500 job
Cheers, Levent
