X350 2007 2.7d Park Brake Fault
Hello there,
My brother has a strange problem with his pet
He replaced the Park Brake motor, afterwards, he is continuously getting the fault code. However, the strange thing is that the Park Brake motor is working, but the fault code is persistent. Using the SDD we tried to erase, and even that is reported that fault is erased it is still on.
The only way to erase the fault code is to disconnect the battery. But after that calibration of the Park Brake is required and it is done properly (5 push times, 6th-time hold and pulling the Park Brake and disengage). However when we pull the Park Brake during the calibration process fault code appear. After finishing the calibration process, Park Brake works fine, but fault code is always present.
Any ideas what to do next?

OK, with SDD we checked the code. It is C1D15-64 (Brake switch status - Parking brake module, brake switch circuit fault (Failed plausibility check with CAN data) ). The SDD erase the code, but in the car, there is still fault. Probably the brake switch on the footbrake should be checked or any other ideas? However, the brake lights are on once footbrake is applied. Another switch that is related to cruise control is also OK, as cruise control is working.
Check the wiring between the parkbrake module (behind the RHS lining of the boot) and the parkbrake itself, and in particular where it runs inside the cabin of the car beneath the rear seat. I had trouble with water ingress (rear window left open in very rainy weather) causing a short in a connector there.
