Default X350 Alt smart charge feature

Can anyone confirm if the X350's alt, is a smart charge system? Only getting 13.6 with new alt and new battery while running. If not, would a small short to ground be involved? Will do a full parasitic draw test this week. Thats a lot of fuses.

The excerpt I have from the shop manual on the alternator description:

"Vehicles fitted with 3.5L or 4.2L engine (SC1 generator)
The battery charging voltage is determined by the temperature of the generator. In cold conditions, starting the vehicle from cold the battery voltage will be between 14.2 volts and 15.1 volts and will reduce as the engine warms up. In hot conditions starting the vehicle when the engine is already warm the battery voltage will be between 13.5 volts and 14.3 volts ."

With a new fully charged battery, 13.6 after recovering from the initial draw to start, sounds about right.

Measure running volts with a multimeter, which should give an idea of accuracy.

X358 is a smart charge system, ~14.6v switches to ~13.6v after exactly 5mins.
I don't know if the X350 is different, but check in the first 5mins.

Here's the more extended explanation of the charging system explanation from the X350 Technical Introduction. The charging system is designed for the original Varta calcium-silver technology batteries:
