Default X350 headlamps in Uk and continental Europe

Hello,

I am new to this forum, because I just purchased a wonderful and and long awaited Super v8 in uk, just few days ago.
I would like to subit to this incredible forum a question wich I consider quite important.
I am Italian, so consequently the car I bought must be imported and registred in my country. Issues here come up when the car will be tested in order to obtain registration. Among the tests there is the so called headlamp orientation test. Mine, obviously, is RHD oriented thus lights from the headlights point on the left. In order to pass the test lights must point to the right. So, in the end my question is: is there a way to modify or set up my existing headlights to point right or do I have to buy new ones with LHD orientation?
Furhermore, on this forum's opinion, in case I need to replace entirely the headlights, is it worth to buy second hand used ones, considering that new one come as complete sets? In case of second hand ones, what do I have to pay attention to? Also, if I have to change the light bulb in used ones (because of flickering for example), do I have to change the ballast module as well? (I read somewhere it get spoiled over time).

Any suggestion/explication on this topic will be more than welcome.

Thanks to all in advance.

A wonderful car, I have one as well.
You may be able to do a temporary job to get past legislation by applying external beam converters which can be purchased in car spares shops or online. They are usually used by people taking their car on holiday to the continent to alter the beam direction.
You will probably have xenon lights on the Super V8 so maybe someone else can help you with the Ballast question.
A long term solution is to change the complete lights for used ones for left hand drive.

Thank you for the kind reply,

Well, I forgot to mention that external "workarounds" are not allowed in order to have the vehicle registred (it's not a temporary situation, you know...).
So I believe I will have to change the headlights... It's a real pain...
Thak you for your support anyway.

You've got great cars by the way! Congrats!

Do a search on this forum for a post of mine "need help with bi-xenon headlights" it shows how to convert from RHD to LHD I had to do this myself a few years ago.

EDIT

Got back to a PC so here you go https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...adlamps-73200/

I don't have any suggestion on the headlamps, but did you install the lower mesh grille on your car? Very striking! I wouldn't mind adding that to my XJ.
