Actually Doc I think we are in a position to try this now. The preliminary tests brought up the "right errors" when changing the programmed ratio to 3.31:1 with the 2.87:1 diff still in the car.

Yeah hah Cambo still got my 3.06 diff sitting there

Have to see Mal wood he was thinking he might be able to graft the LSD from a late FG falcon into the jaguar housing but that's for another post

Can this be done on the AJ26 ecu (disabling DTC's)? I blocked off my EGR and need to disable the fault code.

It's possible, but it will require a lot of work (three to four weeks to disasseble a firmware, make a test flash on a bench), so the price is going to be really high.

Since Steve already started another thread on this topic, shall we continue over there ==>> Issues/questions regarding EGR delete/block-off P0400 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

There's probably plenty of interest in AJ26 remapping since I'm not aware of anyone that offers it. How much $$ are we talking? You can PM me if you prefer.

It takes up to several months to completly investigate a firmware. It's easy enough to disable some DTCs, but it is a WRONG way.
So, i can estimate a 5 to 7 k$ for a development. Probably it's not worth it

Cambo,

Thanks for the info. Do those numbers mean that the advertised 300 hp for a naturally aspirated 4.2 is bogus?

No not at all. The hp numbers you see in the dyno charts are rear wheel horsepower, not a fudged number at the crank. So that's after driveline losses.

There is no exact number for what the losses should be, most people would take somewhere from 15-20% from the number at the crank.

240hp at the wheels is about right for this car. The tune that was loaded was to fix the fuel trim issues caused by having the minicats fitted. Which greatly improved the fuel economy and stopped the CEL and P0420/P0430 codes from coming on.

There is a 4.2 XK here on the forum (same engine, 300hp stock rating) which was also fitted with 100 cell cats, made 225rwhp on the stock tune, 248rwhp on the custom tune.

Different dyno so of course they are not going to be directly comparable.

But those are realistic numbers, Australian dyno's tend not to be overly optimistic like American ones are...
