$12,500 with only 36,000 miles? I think they will get that money when the right buyer sees it.
The right buyer might just be on this forum.
I paid $13,500 for my XJR with 36,000 miles - 5 years ago.

Considering that I've seen dealers asking $23,000 for a 2005 with 33K miles, $12,500 sounds like a freaking steal to me. I'm definitely intrigued, but not sure you'd be willing to go take a look for somebody who's still a newbie on the forums.
cheers,

Yes, the ad also says it's been edited since it was originally posted. Either he posted it originally at 18, got no nibbles and then edited the title to reflect the new asking price, or the "best offer" he's willing to accept is rather less than 18. Regardless, it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Originally Posted by Brewster411

I spoke with the seller yesterday. The price is 12.5
He says has a couple of people interested and may up the the price. He was originally asking 18.
He sent me carfax and addtl photos of engine, trunk, spare tire compartment, headliner. All looking great.
I am seriously interested but live too far away to go and have a look.
There was a gentleman here in this forum that offered to check it out as he lives nearby. Maybe you can reply again or send me a private message. I am new here and don't know how to contact directly. Thx

Glad it's far away, & it's green.
White seems to never look really dirty, unlike black.
Silver also looks good unwashed,
Both reflect the heat, from sunlight.
Much cooler if the air is not working
If it's as nice as it appears, $12,500 is not an outrageous price.

Paddy, I fear you may have touched off an arms race. I spoke with the seller this afternoon and he says he has prospective buyers calling from California, New York and now me in Texas. As a result he now has a pretty good idea that the XJR is a rare and pretty desirable vehicle. Originally Posted by paddyh

He is sending me the service records for the car this afternoon. Out of curiosity, are you still willing to drop by and have a look to see how the car shows?

Thanks Griff! I sent the seller a tentative offer yesterday so we will see whether he accepts. If so I may ask you to head by for a look. (The car's going to need an independent inspection by a good shop, seller doesn't have any service records later than 2014).Originally Posted by Griff79

Can you recommend a place in the area? Google is turning up several independent shops and Eurosport Automotive in Arvada seems to be well reviewed on several different sites. Who do you take your Jag to? Or do you wrench it yourself?

That's good news....in the absence of an immediate answer (not your fault, I'm sure you've got things to do), I picked Eurosport based on tons of positive reviews on Yelp and Google. The seller is taking it by there tomorrow and we will see what they have to say! Keeping my fingers crossed, though I already know all four tires will likely need replacement (seller mentioned they were likely original). If I get a good bill of health I'll be flying in to have a look and test drive, so I guess I don't need anyone to go check it out after all. Originally Posted by Griff79

What do you think of this one?

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that "lifetime spring setup" means the suspension has been converted to conventional springs.Originally Posted by groesa

$51,000 has been spent to maintain and repair that car? Sheesh. But current owner can't even spring to have the car detailed... Lots of puffery in that ad, but it might be a decent car.
I dont think his numbers are exactly right about 124 SV8's. Maybe 124 Portfolio's, but that a whole different ball game. 165K with a gutted air suspension (lost that magic carpet ride) and too many emblems on the back. It would have to be really clean with bushings ect replaced for $9800. It does look clean and ride height looks good.
