1994 x300 wont start
i have a an x300 that wont start but turns over ...
I have checked all the fuses, they are ok
swapped the relays in the engine bay systematically with a known good one and also the ones in the boot.... still not working.
i checked the crank sensor ... the tacho jumps to 2rpm on turn over
i reset the immobiliser by disconnecting it for 5mins
left the negative lead off also for 10 mins.
i checked that i have voltage going to the pump but not while cranking..
the engine turns over great...
NO smell of petrol which would expect after turning engine over so long.
I bought a draper OBD2 reader which gave me a an error message of
P123 throttle position sensor
P1177 rich fueling. From what I have read, that could be a faulty fuel pressure regulator, clogged return line, bad injectors,
THe break down service came and squirted easy start down the air intake... the car started and kept firing until i turned the engine off then it wouldnt start again
I would appreciate any help as im hitting my head against a brick wall haha

Hi Andy Roo,
Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us, but I'm sorry to hear your Jag is having starting issues.
One thing I don't see on your list is a test for fuel pressure at the fuel rail. You mention that you have "voltage to the pump but not while cranking." Have you confirmed the fuel pump is working?
The thread at this link, compiled by aholbro1, may offer some additional potential causes to check:

Hopefully other members will have some helpful suggestions.
Cheers,
Don
