96 xj12
Can anyone talk with me regarding the xj12 from 95 or 96.I currently have a 96 xj6 vdp but have an opportunity to get an xj12.I have had a very good experience with my xj6 but can't seem to get any info on the xj12 of the 95-96 erra. I expect the car will be very much the same as my vdp but what I am wondering about is that motor.good points and bad please.

The V12 version is a fairly rare beast. I wanna guess that only 1000 or so came into the USA for '95'96. The exact numbers are out there on the internet somewhere.
I'd snap it up in a minute if it's in really nice shape. Not so sure I'd jump on a fixer-upper V12, though. Engine repairs are crazy expensive.
I don't really think the V12 engine will give you too much to worry about if it has been well maintained but things are a lot more complicated under the hood, obviously, and some of the parts are more expensive. Whatever you do, don't let it run hot.....that's about the only thing that'll hurt a Jag V12.
When I had a V12 (in an XJS) the engine gave me no trouble at all. It was the rest of the car that needed all the attention
Cheers
