Default ABS Sensor

When renewing rear wheel bearings, I had to remove the ABS sensor from the hub carrier. Not a success story. It was jammed badly, so only the plastic “cap” of the sensor came out but the metal portion remained in the hub carrier. Does anyone have an experience how to fix it?

I've managed to successfully glue back mine and it worked fine but that was probably just a lucky one off, you will most likely have to replace it.

Normally you do not want to attempt to remove these, always unplug from underneath the rear seat and leave sensor in the hub.

The speed sensors can break easily , ask me how I know

The X300 has different sensor part #s depending on car production #

In some cases a left can not be placed on the right , it will fit but not function .

Someone was able to use a X308 sensor with modifications to the mounting hole adaption and the face of the sensor correct direction in relation to the correct direction of wheel rotation

The left rear speed sensor also effects the speedometer and the variable steering if equipped

Motorcarman ( Bob ) had a suggestion to push out the plug from the inside of the wheel hub ( with some heat ? which may ruin the original sensor plug )

I found a replacement for my right rear but have not tried Bob's suggestion yet

and

These are hard to find so you might grab it if correct part number

Welcome back Parker!
I also believe an Audi A4 sensor works (with packing washer) and is much cheaper alternative and has been proved to work by other forum members.
Here is a link to a forum post that describes what’s needed.
