Default Aftermarket keyfob for '95 X300?

I'm having a tough time finding a 300mhz key fob (let alone two) for our "new" 1995 X300 and it occurred to me to wonder:

Has anyone used an aftermarket key-less entry fob with an X300? I don't care if the fob is correct, I just want to be able to unlock my car remotely.

Anyone?

Thanks,
Rhett

There seem to be plenty of 315mhz fobs on the UK eBay, some are for the X-type Jag

I have two of these:

Jaguar 315 MHz Megamos FM433 LTQFM Red Green Factory Remote Transmitter Fob | eBay

They work perfectly, and are about $45.

Pushing this to the top.

Has anyone found alternate key fob ideas for the 1996 XJ6? The prices people are asking on ebay are ridiculous except for the one link that was posted for 42.00. I will go that route unless we find another resource?

Cheers
Bernie

Had aft market fobs that worked with my 1996 XJS. Range was much better than my OEM

$42 is ridiculous? I was seeing prices as high as $150. I got mine for $50. Seemed fair for such a huge convenience.

Rhett, re-read it, he said the prices are ridiculous EXCEPT the one for $42.

Thanks for setting me straight.

Yes, the Saab 900 key fob. It's the one I'm actually using for my 95 XJ6

Going by Vee's link
A fob for a '99 is
List Price: $450.00
Dealership Price: $515.84*
You Save: $65.84 (13% off!)

I can see Rhett's point.

Hey Lads,

I went ahead and grabbed the fob I found on ebay for 42.00. Seemed like a good enough deal compared to what they can cost.

Here is the thing,
I didn't notice it when I bought it but it has a key symbol on the left button and car with open trunk symbol on the right button. I read a post that said these particular ones won't work with the X300 but guess what - it does!

The left button works perfectly for 1,2,3 presses for door, all doors and boot while the right button locks everything. Press either button for three seconds and the panic alarm goes off. It also does a secondary chirp if the trunk is left open as an example.

Don't know if I got lucky or if the other poster was incorrect but either way the fob works. I confirmed the frequency at 315 before I bought it and followed the programming feature and it worked first time.

Seat memory is currently non-op so I can't speak for that until I get it repaired but for now, I am fobbin'

Cheers
Bernie
