Airbag again
Look at the connectors to the airbag module end on. The different coloured piece of plastic is the so called "shorting bar" . Pull it out and see if your problem persists. Over time, the curvature of the loom and the pressure it put on the connection caused my shorting bar to make contact, illuminating the warning light. The idea behind the bar is to illuminate the warning light in the event that the connection should come loose ( rendering the airbags inop). It can get enough play to put the light on while still being in the socket.

F1: The inner pads should read 15 ohms and outer set should have continuity (0 Ohms). If no continuity, the thermal fuse has blown and the module will need to be replaced. In my case the thermal fuse in the picture was blown.
In theory you could replace the thermal fuse, but I don't know what its thermal value should be. Possibly the color code (green)? Bypassing it could be risky.
All fixed. I replaced the airbag module, and the problem has gone away. The replaced module was just over a year older. I did not do any testing on the old module, but I think that one of the caps was dead and did not hold a charge.
