Another octopus question
I went with scraping and emery cloth. Buttoned her up this afternoon, and took her out for a while tonight. I missed that car. I have't driven it since late October. It's good to have it back.
I drove it all weekend, to work and to the church yesterday. When I got home, I figured it was a good idea to check. The coolant level was just at the "min" mark, and there's still a small leak (steam) coming from under the intake manifold. It's crowded enough under there that you just can't see where it's coming from.
I looked at all the octopus ends, and they are dry. I can't see the middle end of the bypass hose (the one from the back of the pump to the block-is that the right name?), but that has a new clamp and the surface was clean. If it's that, I can't even see the end of the clamp to snug it up
Any other suggestions?

Yes, that's the bypass. If you take the cover off the fuel rail you will just be able to see the clamp. Access is certainly limited. I replaced mine when I had the air pump, water pump and octopus off, and it was not too bad. I had to use emory to remove the corrosion and deposits off the nipple.
