Antenna Help please
SO, have owned the jag for 2 weeks now, as of today have done the following.
1. replaced fuel filter
2. replaced and gaped new (hotter) plugs as per service specs
3. flushed entire fuel system
4. checked coils for cracks (every single one had a crack) wrapped temporarily with electrical tape will buy new coils.
5. replaced air filter
6. cleaned EGR valve
7. identified bad rochester valve in evap system
While i was doing this i took the battery out for charging, put it back in for maiden voyage and everything works alot better BUT when I try to turn on the radio the antenna wont raise and i get no sound, radio does turn on tho.
Also there appears to be an issue with the alternator/voltage regulator pulling 11.7 volts when idle and headlights on am investigating further.
Any ideas would be much appreciated

I am going to guess BIG time.
Battery out for charging, means the radio has "lost" its memory, and MAYBE needs a security code to be entered???.
We did not get security radios in that model here, but I "think" USA did, and someone up there will chime in eventually.
Our S Type has that system, and the radio "turns on" as yours does, but code is required to actually activate the radio.

Hmmm.
WELL, that's what I was thinking, I have read elsewhere on the forum that if you call the dealer with the VIN they should be able to look it up is that correct?
BUT, even weirder still the battery was off the car when I bought it used and during the test drive I was able to listen to the radio. Unless she just had the battery off the car for a small amount of time? lol Im scratching my head on this one.

I believe the dealer network up there will assist, but I think you need to front up, and "prove" you own the car, but that is only what I have read here basically.
Loss of battery supply, even for an instant, will kill that memory as far as I know, so I will scratch some also.
Maybe the antenna fuse has decided to go AWOL just coz it can?.
Or, the antenna supply signal from the head unit is not there, as these head units are notorious for doing some serious dumb things.
Mine failed to talk to teh changer in the boot, so a Pioneer unit replaced it, and I sold the changer to one guy, and the head unit to another who did not want changer capability, sweet all round.
