Default Any specs differences across the pond?

I'm considering the purchase of an imported south american x300, are there any differences with european specs that i should be aware of??

I know of smog differences in other makes and models, but haven't a clue about x300 jags

Is the vehicle already in Spain with an EU Type Approval certificate, been homologated by the ITV and carrying a Spanish registration?

If not, it can get very expensive to get compliance and registration.

Yes, the car was imported some ten years ago, is registered in Spain ever since and also has a current ITV (spanish equivalent to MOT) so title wise shouldn't be a problem.

My concern is if there are any differences, on the engine or any other car systems, with european models

The only major difference I can see in the Parts Catalogue is the Engine Management Control Module. There's different modules fitted for different markets.

As it has current ITV, the emissions must be within Spanish limits so the only problem would arise if it needed a replacement module.

Security system is different, it's not as strong on a US market car ( no immobilizer) and a different frequency for the fob. Bumpers are different, they are the energy absorbing type. Emissions will also be different too.

Added: I just reread your original post, when you say South American spec, this is something like Brazil or Argentina? Not USA/Canada spec?
