Question Anyone here have 1994 model year XJR?

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has a 1994 Jaguar XJR. I know the XJR was first introduced in the x300 but the earliest one I've seen is a 1995 which I'm considering buying. I have a 2004 and a 2008 XJR and looking to buy the earlier year cars. Ideally want to buy the first year produced but not sure if they started in 1995? Hopefully someone on this forum can help me determine if I'm wasting time looking for a non existent 1994 XJR or if I should just buy this 1995 I'm looking at now.

Cheers

There is some info on production numbers by year on this page that might help

Jaguar and Daimler X300 (XJ6/12 1994 - 1997) and X308 (XJ8 1997 - 2003)

XJR was introduced in 1988 so an 1994 XJR could possibly be even an XJ40R.

Not likely to find one in the USA.

The X300/XJR was the first factory built XJR. Prior versions were standard XJ40-series sedans that were upfitted/modified by TWR- Tom Walkinshaw Racing. As far as I know only a few hundred were built 1988-1994 and never sold in the USA.

Years ago there was a webpage devoted to XJRs that had quite a good, detailed history of the TWR-modified cars....but I can't find it now.

Just a reminder that those production number charts are by calendar year, not model year.

Go with a 1995. That's the first XJR factory production model year in the USA. Good chance the one you are considering was actually built in 1994, but sold as a 1995 model. Anything in the USA that is a 1994 MY or earlier will not be an X300 (X306 supercharged).
