This may sound like a dumb question but on my 96 xj base model the driver window goes down automatically when pushing the button, but it doesn't go automatically up. Is it supposed to? It's my first jag and it's the newest one I've ever come in contact with. Thanks in advance!

 

You're not alone as neither does mine. Can't for the life of me think why Jaguar decided not to incorporate this function. One of quite a few examples I think whereby Jaguar seem to have omitted some features on the XJ6 which in my opinion should have been obligatory on a luxury, premium marque.
I owned a Honda Legend (older model than my Jag) for a couple of years and it was packed with features not fitted on my XJ6, although I suspect Jaguar offered a long list of options, available at extra cost!

 

I couldnt agree with you more Biffta! whats even more confusing is that Jag put two small bubbles on the button indicating the automatic function, but its on both the upper and lower part of the button which would lead one to believe it goes up automatically aswell but it doesnt!
