Glad to find this forum! I've just begun a hunt for a 96-97 XJ6 in the SoCal area.

Would love general input on what to look for or avoid - obviously will be looking for a car with all service records; no accidents; etc.

What brought me to this forum is that the first car I looked at (and plan to sched a inspection of) is a dealer serviced, single own since it was one year old, in lovely condition in and out (owned by a retired Doctor) The only apparent negative thus far is that the A/C is inop - he says dealer has told him a hose replacement is required and it will be $800. Sounds like a lot for replacing a hose!

Also find it interesting that though it has been serviced at the local Jag dealer all these years, none of the service shows up in Carfax.

Anyhow, comments on any of the above, and any other thoughts suggestions would be welcomed.
