Broken door cable fix

Broken door cable fix
Hey everyone,
The cable to open the drivers door broke. I can feel my kitty is getting old because of all the little problems that are starting to occur.
I gave her some love by ordering a new cable from a jaguar salvage yard.
12,50 Euro for the cable, the lad was so nice to also include the handle.
Removing the doorpanel was a quick and easy job.
I used a howto on the x308 forum to perform this repair.
Excellent write up there!
It also gave me the chance to inspect a wobbling remote control for the windows. Some plastic on the top was broken to hold it in place.
I fixed that with some plastic glue.
Also a good cleaning of the inside of the remote control (under the buttons) made it like new! Job done!
a note when performing this repair that is not seen in the pictures on the x308 forum:
The cable is inserted into the doorlock and is held by a tiny plastic ruler that locks it in place. Be carefull not losing this when removing and replacing.
The white spacers inside the doorframe that holds the panel with a plastic screw are easily destroyed when removing the panel. Be extra carefull with these. When they are worn out the panel is not staying in place when shutting the door.
