Default CD changer

Hi there everyone, I know this has sort of been covered before but can’t find what I’m looking for!
I’m trying to fit a cd changer in the boot of my 1997 X300, I’ve taken out the lining in the boot that hides the fuel tank but can’t find a din plug, also looked on the left as I’ve seen it mentioned it may be there on the later x300’s
Can anyone suggest where to look, could it be wrapped inside some of the many groups of wires as I understand all of these cars are pre wired for the CD changed regardless of whether they had one when sold. Thanks to everyone in advance.

The din plug should be wrapped in a wire bundle up high above the fuel tank. It could be hard to spot and may require some unwrapping of the black cloth. It is a grey wire. It should be coming through the rear bulkhead inboard of the right boot hinge.

If you still can't find it, you can take out the head unit to look for the other end of it. If it is there in the console, it might not be plugged into the head unit anyway.

Thankyou for your help, it ended up being on the left hand side between the boot lining and the inner padding so I didn’t spot it initially. I’m now happily listening to some classic tracks as opposed to the rubbish they put on the radio!
