Central Locking Module

Does anyone know if it's possible to bench test a Central Door Locking Module to see if it's any good? What about a possible test on the car? It's for a 95 Vanden Plas.

As far as I know, the only way to test is to substitute into your car.

Does anyone know what years/models interchange with a 95 XJ6 Vanden Plas? Are they they same on the XJS models?
