Thumbs up Changed 1995 XJ6 engine oil with the Mityvac Evacuator. Easy.

Looked everywhere on the Jag forum but could not find details on changing engine oil for the 1995 XJ6 with the Mityvac 7400 Evacuator.

After changing the engine oil for my Mercedes CLK430 using the Mityvac, I used the Mityvac to extract the oil from my 1995 XJ6. It worked very well.

Compared with the previous unplug & drain method, the Mityvac evacuated just as much, if not more, spent oil from the sump.

The Mityvac 7400 comes with three tubes - large, medium and small. Start the evacuation with the medium tube to remove the oil, then change to the small tube towards the end to remove as much as possible from the bottom of the sump.

No more crawling under the car to remove/replace the drain plug.

Replacing of the oil filter is the same.

Good job, it is less hassle job rather than conventional oil draining method . My ex jag's oil was removed by the extractor as well . It seriously shortens amount of time considering these cars hold up up to 7.5 quarts oil

Yes, it takes 8.5 quarts of oil with a new filter. Adjust to within the min/max markings on the dipstick.

I want one of these!!! One of the main reasons I never work on my car when fluids are involved is because i live in a condominium with an underground garage with assigned spaces, and if the association finds a pool of oil or coolant underneath one of my spaces they will fine me, but with this machine I could do more work on my cars without worry, not to mention change the fluids myself....I imagine this will work for transmission fluid as well???
