help please, I have to align the codes of my jaguar XJ6 3.2 sport 1996, key-body-engine-immobiliser control units, I have also a code error P1621 on my diagnostic pc
please what kind of diagnostic software have I to use. Is someone available to recode it if I send all the controls units?
Are we talking about the chip in key not allowing starter rotation ?
To know you have all starter enables including Immobilier ( summed up by the Body Processor Unit ) the large starter solenoid relay must click by feel , this splits starter rotation issues in half
You will have to put your finger on relay as other relays in area will click at same time or you can notice a large voltage sag on the instrument cluster on successful relay closing
For the 3.2 liter engine / transmission combination you will not have a transmission mounted rotary position switch like the more common 4.0 on this website
I do not have chip in key immobilization for North American Spec X300 models do not , but others have experience as the engine CEL light sequence in starting
Was the car in storage for a while as the security ( SLCM ) must have the fuse installed as the chip in key feeds that SLCM as a starter enable , may have been pulled to silence the alarm as battery drains
This is your chip in key ( labeled column switchgear coil ) on page 207 ROW ( rest of world ) and your whole starter circuit for the 3.2 setup on page 48
Thank for the answer
Unfortunately the problem is the code of the key that not permitted the start ignition, the relè has not click when i switch the key
i suppose that the key has not the right code.
possible to restore or recode the key?

The most stress free method would be to send your module to xjrengineer in the UK who can remove the immobiliser option altogether.
I am not sure what he charges for this, but the only other way is to find someone with the very old jaguar computer IDS software and they are few and far between.
Cafcpete's point is immobilization is common and a hard one so Andy can blank this in the engine ECU
The CKPS sensor has nothing to do with starter rotation but comes into effect in later whole engine starting sequence as the starter is already rotating
A good CKPS will read 1300 ohms as a basic meter reading
There are 2 fuses for the starter solenoid relay # 12 / 10 amp right engine bay fuse box ( relay control , clicking ) and # 3 / 25 amp left engine bay fuse box as this is the muscle power passing through relay spinning the starter motor
The immobilizer decoder module in the dash must be powered from a trunk fuse by the troublesome large BT - 4 connector above the fuel tank , it should have a tie wrap on it to hold lock over bar closed , do not remove connector yet
The starter solenoid relay can be in the wrong position and a other large # 5 right ECU controlled relay will click as it should always , this other relay should not keep the starter from rotating but does not allow the fuel injector to open ( down the road starting sequence )
To get the starter solenoid relay to close you can provide a small wire ground to the Green / Orange color wire as the relay is in sockets , you can swap this large relay from a headlight , fog , or A / C clutch relay of the same part #
socket 3 and 5 is the muscle power passing through
# 1 is command to close ground provided by the BPM
# 2 is fuse # 12 right engine bay fuse box
You must also have the relay in the corner of the right engine bay fuse box click closed to power the engine ECU for starter rotation enable ( starter solenoid relay to click ) , this small relay can also be swapped with the left engine bay fuse box corner relay as this only runs the car horns

how about the Body unit control, has it managed by a immobilised code or it has managed only about a family unit item
i have a doubt that it is the really problem, the lock doors doesn’t work
Your power pin at the BPM is FC3 - 1 ( Brown / Black ( N / B ) wire ) in the corner , this pin will be hot at all times
See page 25 of the wiring guide , this wiring guide pic is a little mixed up on Jaguar's side pic , Jaguar's pic will be the BPM unit side of the connector
The BPM can be slid down by removing the black button by a common interior Christmas tree removal tool or a flat blade screwdriver / butter knife to get under there
You can see voltage but not the current to funtion fully going back to the BT - 4 connector making little contact
When removing the BPM from behind the glove compartment keep very careful track of your hardware , use a piece of cardboard with holes punched in it method otherwise it can be confusing , ask me how I know
Time for a nap , pizza does that to me , when at the leaning tower of piza at the eating place the only meat pizza they had was a single chopped up hot dog
Fun time driving around Italy and absorbing the culture , many trips ( American Airlines jet doctor so free ) and memories
What does Mia Mia Della Machia mean as a someone' s loud car wreck heard while sleeping at San Remo hotel ?
The town of Delebio was totally awsome when staying overnight there going into Switzerland through the small roads to snow ski
I am happy to hear that you have good memories of Italy, and I am shocked to hear about hot dog meat on a pizza!
That is pretty crazy…
I am from the northeast of Italy so I am not familiar with the places that you mentioned - I hope you can return to help me with the Jaguar- I can’t find a competent mechanic unfortunately.
Take care of yourself and thank you very much for all your help.
