ti says "viton seals" i cant find nothing that says fluoroelastomer !!
Viton is a brand name of a rubber/fluoropolymer elastomer compound that is resistant to petrol/gasoline/diesel fuel, so that check valve should work.

Regarding the location of the valve, if I recall, on the X300 the lines coming from the tank to the fuel filter are rigid, so I would try to find a section of flexible hose in the engine bay leading to the inlet of the fuel rail (near the firewall). If you find a flexible section further rearward between the filter and fuel rail, that would work too, but off the top of my head I think that entire stretch of fuel line is steel.

Please keep us informed.

Cheers,

Don

There is a flex section there, but it is very difficult to access. The fuel lines come through the trunk/boot floor right above the differential in the rear suspension. You also need the special disconnect tool to get the lines out of the tank.

This is inside a twin pump XJR tank, but the single pump tanks are similar. The check valve is at the arrow in red. To access this the tank needs to be removed and the feed and return lines disconnected from underneath and the large plastic access panel on top removed.

Well, while waiting for the check valve to arrived other items i ordered were arriving. So friday an ignition coil i ordered arrived to swap for the broken one i had on the 1st cyl. After installing the new one the car has been starting always at first/second crank.....

weird! I’m not throwing a party just yet but it seems to have cured the problem?!

Always great to see a problem resolved, but for future reference, are we concluding that fuel pressure was being lost through leaking injectors? An interesting possibility, or could it have been leaking injectors flooding the cylinders?
Im not trying to look a gift horse in the mouth, but am genuinely interested, as this seems to be a "new" type of failure for these cars.

well cant say for sure but after changing everything else and because i also had a rough idle, due to this we change the injectors for some used ones and cured not only the rough idle but also the start problem. We didnt expect to cure the starting problem....
