hello, I have a 1996 XJ6, and my steering column has some plsy in it, not a lotof play, but still a little loose on the tilt going up and down. I have tightned the 2 screws on the bottom and it helped a little but still has play. When I am going over bigger bumps I can really feel it thought the column because it is loose. Anyone have or know a fix for this? thanks.

 

The way I fixed these columns when I was at the dealer was to replace the column with a new one. I have boxes of columns and I use the loose ones for parts. I have never tried to repair one but I suspect worn parts that are not available separately from a new column (NSS)
