Cool Air Bypass Servo?

Cool Air Bypass Servo?
Greetings everyone!
My daughter reported that there was a strange warning beep when she turned off the ignition on our '95 VDP.
After investigation, I put the climate control into test mode and got back an Error Code 43 which translates to "Cool Air Bypass Servo not reached in 30 seconds".
Looking at the schematics, it appears that it is located within the Evaporator/Heater Matrix assembly, which sounds like a potential nightmare. I've searched the archives and can't even find anything about this bypass servo for the X300.
So this Cool Air Bypass Servo -- What is it? Can it be fixed? Or does the whole Evaporator/Heater Matrix assembly have to be replaced?
AC seems to work fine.

Hello Mac,
I believe the servo that drives the cool air bypass flap is not moving as it should. You should be able to access the servo by removing the drivers side kick panel at the center console...perhaps the instrument cluster & shroud, but I can't remember for sure. The servo should then be in view and can be removed and cleaned up which may well be all that is needed!
Before reassembling everything in the car, test the servo by activating various climate control settings. If there is no servo movement or you still get your error, a voltage check at the servo connector will verify if control voltage from the module is present.
I've posted some picture in an album here: Defrost Flap Servo by mailshack | JaguarForums.com
The servo in the photos are of my defrost flap servo which was not working at all. I cleaned it up and it has been working as it should ever since.
The cool air bypass servo should be at the swivel point of #4 in the 'Matrix' photo...on the drivers side.
Hope this helps!
Bob
