I'm considering an x300 XJR, and going through the numbers. I know that sometimes the cost of a tranny on these cars can be the killer. Does anyone have experience with the cost of having a rebuilt tranny put into an XJR?

 

The transmission in the XJR is one of the world's most robust automatic gearboxes, rated well beyond the maximum torque in the XJR. I have never heard of one failing. If it breaks it is probably not too expensive to replace, they hardly ever goes bad.

Because they are robust and have four gears, they are a popular item for hot rods with many hp.
